Bognet Construction is thrilled to announce The Adora has received the District of Columbia Award for Excellence in Historic Preservation for Design and Construction. This honor celebrates the successful transformation of the historic Holzbeierlein Bakery warehouse into a dynamic mixed-use development in the heart of Washington, DC’s Shaw neighborhood.
The 60,000-square-foot project seamlessly integrates the past with modern design, featuring retail and office space as well as luxury residential units on the newly constructed fourth and penthouse levels. The adaptive reuse of this historic structure required meticulous planning and innovative construction techniques to ensure the integrity of the original façade while introducing new elements that enhance functionality and aesthetic appeal.
