Commitment
Bognet Construction is committed to sustainable design and construction, and providing expertise for LEED® certified projects. Green building aligns with our company values of providing our clients with the best possible service and a quality finished product all while fostering teamwork, maintaining integrity and helping the environment.
Pre-Construction Services
We know how important it is to clearly understand the sustainability objectives before construction begins. The pre-construction team works hand-in-hand with the design team and subcontractors to provide practical, cost-effective green solutions and ensure that green design goals are met. We can also provide a cost evaluation for certification levels and offer value engineering ideas to our clients. Subcontractors and vendors provide us with necessary feedback as the design develops. Meanwhile, our team of experts is continuously researching and implementing new green products and technologies that can save on initial construction costs and reduce on-going energy consumption.
Our LEED® Accredited Professionals work with owners, designers, green building consultants, and subcontractors for construction document review, material procurement, scheduling and logistics to analyze the LEED rating system and maximize LEED points. As part of the pre-construction planning, Bognet will develop a construction waste management plan that identifies materials to be recycled, locations of specific material hauling locations, and recycling centers for each material. In addition, we will develop an Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) management plan where project specific approaches to limit VOC and/or indoor contaminants within and around the project space are utilized.
Green building services in the pre-construction phase include:
- Design assist meetings with subcontractor specialists
- Cost / benefit analysis & feasibility review
- Project specification review & green material research and options
- LEED scorecard and project review
- Submittal data / equipment availability and selection
- Demolition & construction waste management planning
Construction Phase Services
Bognet is committed to the project and the client throughout the construction process. In our role as the LEED general contractor, Bognet is responsible for ensuring that the work is constructed accurately, represents the plans and specifications, and that the appropriate LEED certification is acquired. Key to our process is the development of a project schedule and close monitoring of the LEED compliant materials, which allows us to stay on schedule while ensuring proper materials and installation methods are used.
Bognet will adhere to a strict construction waste management procedure and will recycle cardboard, glass, aluminum, copper, brick, concrete, plastic, clean wood, gypsum board, carpet, insulation, etc. We will also document and maintain an inventory of reusable and recyclable products used while verifying that reused material fit the necessary requirements.
Throughout the entire project, our LEED accredited project manager will oversee pre-construction, construction, and coordinate with the owner and/or architect for submission to USGBC. Our services include stringent LEED accounting from start to finish, continuous updates for the owner, architect, engineers, and subcontractors on the LEED progress, and the verification, research and record-keeping of submitted green building products.
